Activity 2.2.1 (Narrative/Visualization): Use Knight Lab’s timeline creation tool to co-create a historical timeline of the digital humanities

In Module 1.2. History of digital humanities, you were asked to select a DH project, historical development, or event that contributed to the development of DH. You will now create a slicker, interactive version of that timeline.

  1. View our class’ timeline on https://tinyurl.com/DH-History

  2. Go to this Google Spreadsheet (sign in using your @up.edu.ph email account). Study how entries in the spreadsheet correspond to entries in the timeline.

  3. Find the next available blank row in the spreadsheet:

  4. Enter your DH project, historical development, or event in this row. Try to include at least one media file (image/video/audio). (Do not edit your classmates’ entries, or any other area of the spreadsheet other than the row in which you are editing your contribution.)

  5. Check that your entry is correctly being reflected in the timeline. Make sure that there are no broken links or broken references to embedded images/videos/sound files.
